Prioritize swaps over perps. Swaps earn 8 points per $10, while perps earn just 1 point per $10. That’s 8x more points per dollar on swap transactions.
Check your points estimate. Before confirming any eligible transaction, MetaMask displays an estimated points value. Use this to gauge whether a trade is worth it from a rewards perspective.
Watch for limited-time multipliers. MetaMask occasionally offers bonus multipliers for specific networks, tokens, or time windows. Keep an eye on announcements to time your larger transactions strategically.

Important Warnings Before You Start
Rewards have expiration windows. Rewards are season-specific. Once a season ends and designated claim windows expire, you won’t be able to claim unclaimed rewards. Make sure to claim your rewards as you progress.
Some rewards start timers. Certain rewards like 24-hour boosts begin counting down the moment you claim them. You cannot pause, stop, or restart the timer once activated. Only claim time-based rewards when you’re ready to use them.
Opting out erases everything. If you opt out of MetaMask Rewards, all your progress will be permanently reversed. Should you decide to rejoin later, you’ll restart at 0 points.
Troubleshooting: Why Didn’t I Earn Points?
If your points aren’t showing up after a trade (allow up to one hour), check these common causes:
- Trade value was too low β The points value of the trade was less than 1 point
- Unsupported network β The swap wasn’t on Ethereum Mainnet, Linea, Monad, Optimism, BSC, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, zkSync, or Solana
- Pricing data unavailable β One or more assets involved didn’t have accurate pricing data
- No fees involved β The swap or bridge didn’t involve any MetaMask fees
- Account not opted in β The account used wasn’t connected to your Rewards profile before the trade
- Wrong platform β The trade wasn’t executed from MetaMask Mobile or MetaMask Extension

Once you add accounts to your Rewards profile via mobile, you can start earning points by eligible trades on those accounts in MetaMask Extension as well.
Points can take up to one hour to appear in your Rewards activity.
The rewards program requires a valid sign-up to award points. Unfortunately, points cannot be issued for trades made without a valid sign-up.
Yes. Tap the settings (gear) icon at the top of the Rewards section in MetaMask Mobile to access the Settings page. From there, you can add additional accounts to your Rewards profile to aggregate your activity and earn more points. Note that hardware wallet accounts are not currently supported.
You can monitor your referral earnings in the “Activity” tab within the Rewards section of MetaMask Mobile. While you won’t be able to see the specific addresses that used your referral code, you will be able to see how many points they’ve generated. Remember, you earn 10 points for every 50 points your referred users earn from trading activity.
