ICODA was brought in to run a “Foundation & Validation” phase — proving that a repeatable, multi-channel community growth engine could work before committing budget to a larger rollout.

Building trust in a young crypto exchange’s community usually takes months. In one phase, we grew YEX’s Telegram and X communities past 10,000 combined new members, delivered 10/10 planned collaborations, and packed two AMAs to 150% of target.

Growing a crypto exchange’s community from scratch is rarely a straight line — most projects either buy followers that never engage or grow slowly through organic content alone. For YEX, a crypto trading platform, ICODA built a structured crypto community building engine combining trading-community partnerships, live AMAs, and gamified quests. The Challenge

A new or lesser-known crypto exchange faces a trust problem before it faces a growth problem: audiences in trading communities are skeptical of platforms without an established track record, and follower growth alone doesn’t prove a brand can hold attention. YEX needed to demonstrate — inside a single, time-boxed phase — that a coordinated push across partnerships, live events, and gamified engagement could move the needle on real community health, not just vanity metrics, before any decision to accelerate spend.

Strategy & Execution

ICODA secured and delivered 10 out of 10 planned partnerships with established trading communities, giving YEX direct access to warm, crypto-native audiences instead of cold acquisition channels.

2. Telegram & X (Twitter) Community Growth

Telegram marketing and X growth ran in parallel as the two core channels for measuring community health, with both closing the phase at or above target.

Telegram grew by 4,100 members, reaching 103% of its +4,000 target, while X (Twitter) grew by 6,000 followers, hitting 100% of target. Growth on both channels was paired with consistent posting and community moderation to protect engagement rates rather than let new members go dormant — a common failure mode in fast Telegram channel growth.

The main idea: Phase 1 wasn’t growth for its own sake. It was about proving that a structured, repeatable crypto community building engine could reliably move the needle on real engagement metrics — before any decision to accelerate spend.

3. AMA Sessions

Two live AMA sessions were run during the phase, both significantly outperforming their live-attendance target.

Against a target of 500+ live participants per session, the two AMAs averaged 750 live participants — 150% of target — signaling that YEX’s audience wasn’t just growing in size but was willing to show up for real-time engagement, a much stronger signal of community health than follower counts alone.

4. Quest Campaigns

Beyond the core KPIs, ICODA layered in two gamified quest campaigns as a bonus growth lever, and both significantly outperformed expectations.
